Silver linings, heartbreaks, and echoes of things long gone — mightberea is an alias for Edmonton bi-lingual songstress Andrea Shipka.

 

Her debut EP, “Atlas” is a nostalgic exploration of place and time.The EP is centred around cinematic soundscapes, each themed on a particular city. Atlas was co-produced by Shipka and recorded at Royal Studio with Arnel Ethier and was released in 2021

Shipka also fronts the indie-rock ensemble Cypress, and made her mark on the Edmonton music
community running shows for MRG concerts and managing a popular Edmonton music venue. As a photographer, Shipka captures portraits and performances, and brings her keen visual sensibility and eye for colour to her musical project, art directing and creating her own photographs and video art.

 

Her passion for sustainability and gender equality drives her art and action as a community organizer and as an undeniable musical persona who just "mightberea."
